Braess paradox in a quantum network

نویسندگان

چکیده

Braess, while working on traffic modeling, noticed that flow in a network can be worsened by adding extra edges to an existing network. This seemingly counterintuitive phenomenon is known as the Braess paradox. We consider quantum network, where represent shared entangled states between spatially separated parties (nodes). The goal entangle two previously uncorrelated nodes using entanglement swappings. amount of distant quantified average concurrence established, result then introduce additional edge maximally Bell show introduction this leads lower nodes. Thus we demonstrate occurrence analogous paradox networks.

Braess' Paradox in a Generalised Traffic Network

The classical network configuration introduced by Braess in 1968 is of fundamental significance because Valiant and Roughgarden showed in 2006 that ‘the “global” behaviour of an equilibrium flow in a large random network is similar to that in Braess’ original four-node example’. In this paper, a natural generalisation of Braess’ network is introduced and conditions for the occurrence of Braess’...

Braess like Paradox in a Small World Network

Braess [1] has been studied about a traffic flow on a diamond type network and found that introducing new edges to the networks always does not achieve the efficiency. Some researchers studied the Braess’ paradox in similar type networks by introducing various types of cost functions. But whether such paradox occurs or not is not scarcely studied in complex networks. In this article, I analytic...

Efficiency and Braess' Paradox under Pricing in General Network

Today's large scale networks such as the Internet emerge from the interconnection of privately owned networks and serve heterogeneous users with different service needs. The service providers of these networks are interested in maximizing their profit. Since the existing pricing scheme cannot satisfy their needs, the service providers are looking for new pricing mechanisms. However, designing a...

Collective Intelligence and Braess' Paradox

We consider the use of multi-agent systems to control network routing. Conventional approaches to this task are based on Ideal Shortest Path routing Algorithm (ISPA), under which at each moment each agent in the network sends all of its traffic down the path that will incur the lowest cost to that traffic. We demonstrate in computer experiments that due to the sideeffects of one agent’s actions...

Braess Paradox in Dynamic Routing for the Cohen-kelly Network

A paradox of dynamic routing in the Cohen-Kelly network is studied. Intuitively, we expect that adding capacity to a network improves the performance of the users. Braess showed an example wherein the opposite occurs. We refer to such a situation as a paradox. In this paper, we deal with a class of queueing networks in which Cohen and Kelly discovered a paradox in static routing. We consider th...
